Beauty in Change

Submitted by Anonymous

“This pandemic caught us all off guard.

It shook us to the core, scared us, caused us to pause, and caused us to move past our comfort zones.

It also caused us to change.

It brought forth a change in spirit, in what matters, in what we thought we were capable of.

A change that is beautiful.

It's been hard. It's been a fight and a struggle.

We are still fighting. We are still struggling.

But we are learning, we are climbing, and I know we will be victorious.

For me, my victory was learning a new coping skill.

I learned how to garden, and have been so humbled by watching my food grow from seed to harvest. There is something so healing in how beautiful food is and what it takes to bring it to the point of nourishment. It has given me a sense of healing and brought a piece to my eating disorder recovery that I had been missing.

If it weren't for this pause, I never would have taken the time or effort to learn this new skill.

Without this pause, I would not have had this growth.

I needed this change and didn't even realize it.

My hope is that everyone can look back on this experience and find something worthy to remain in our lives after this is over. Some type of change you plan to keep. A change that brought forth growth and victory.”
